ITF Events in Greece
Our trip to Greece was cut short because of the decision that took the professional circuits to stop all tournaments for a duration of 6 weeks (which has now become 3 months). We returned to Spain on March 13th, just a couple days before the Spanish government took the smart decision of putting everyone on lock-down.
Daniella played well during that first (and last) week, winning 3 matches to pass qualies, losing to the 5th seed (WTA 623) 3-6 4-6 in the 1st round of main draw...If sets were up to 3 games, she would have won 3-0 3-1, unfortunately it’s not the case ;-) A shame she wasn’t able to close out the sets cause she played at a good level, her serve letting her down a bit, which allowed her opponent to stay in the match and eventually win it.
It was another good week for Daniella, growing with experience and it is unfortunate that the trip had to be cut short. Like most people we are now on lock-down and waiting patiently at home until this situation is resolved and we can go back to the courts. For now, all international competitions have been suspended until at least June 8th. We wish everyone to stay safe and patient through this difficult time! All the best!
